Blueberry Muffins
I regularly question myself about what I want to do with my life and today I find myself questioning why I tend to “quit” so easily. I have always resonated with the Emperor from the classic tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, not in terms of his pride but how he was never satisfied no matter how many beautiful clothes he had, which eventually led to his embarrassing downfall. This is not in regards to tangible items (because let’s not talk about all the clothes I bought during lockdown), but I tend to start a new hobby / activity and leave it soon after. This pandemic has definitely shone a light…

Peanut Butter & Jelly Thumbprints
If you love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or PB&J otters (wait, what?), then you will love these thumbprint cookies! They are so good that the fiancé is once again lecturing me for giving them away to my neighbours. They are also so easy to make and super fun, especially with young children as well. Tip #1, or rather, the most important tip: USE THE MOST BASIC CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER IN ANY SUPERMARKET. Now, I’m not trying to give a bad name to any peanut butter brands out there, but I’d avoid using any expensive ones that are organic or made with unique oil etc. Mainly because these cookies need that strong peanut butter…

Apple Crumble Muffins
The classic apple crumble topped with warm custard sauce is my mum’s favourite bake of mine. Few things are able to give you a warm comforting sensation (as if you’re being hugged by a muffin) quite like a good apple crumble or an apple pie. Tbh I’m baffled at how I’ve yet to share my apple crumble and custard recipes, especially since they are definitely the first ones I ever recorded in my recipe book. (sorry for crappy manicure) I have a couple of recipe books, both very different looking and both very differently maintained. One of my books has hand-stitched owls on its canvas book cover. The recipes are…

No-Bake Oreo Cheesecake
If I had to pick only one dessert to eat for the rest of my life, it is definitely Oreo Cheesecake – HANDS DOWN, NO FIGHT. Oreos are my favourite biscuits. I suspect that the reason why I find them so intriguing is because I am actually addicted to them. Apparently, there was a study on the effects of eating Oreos which concluded that Oreos are equally addictive as cocaine. Should I go into rehab for that? No. Because if you think about it…. my extreme love for Oreos, and Oreos only, actually ensures that I can never be addicted to any other drugs! #logic This recipe has got to…

Earl Grey Tea Cupcakes
MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE. (I do have a million absolute-favourites though) This recipe definitely takes the cake (see what I did there?). I never knew there was going to be a better type of cupcake than Red Velvet. Yes, I’m a classic RV sucker, and yes, I know that it’s just red colouring but who cares?! I’ve always been pretty fond of tea in general, so much so that I could easily drink 10 cups of tea per day. I could, I’m not saying I would. Anyway, the usual thought popped into my mind as I was having a cup of earl grey tea some time ago. “What should I bake…

Dalgona Coffee – Jumping on the Bandwagon
Everyone has been making Dalgona coffee, which is essentially a cold sweet foamy latte that is perfect as a post-meal beverage. If you haven’t heard of this South Korean trend that has taken over the internet over the past week or so, fear not, you have plenty of time to catch up – besides, where else do you have to be? Crazy times huh. It’s an insanely easy-to-make coffee drink that can be prepared under 5 minutes. All you need is 4 ingredients which I believe all household pantries should have. However, it’s a very strict 1:1:1 ratio between coffee:sugar:water so please try not to reduce the sugar content, otherwise…
